The equipment!
Most people believe
that bird photography is an expensive leisure. Well, they are not completely wrong !
In a general way, to photograph birds you need a camera, a lens and a tripod. Basic
equipment for beginners can cost around $1000, while professional equipment can easily
reach more than $10000. Of course, even $1000 can appear out of price, but if you compare this cost
with the cost of golf, skiing or deep-sea diving equipment, you will soon realize that it
is not so high.
In regards to annual operation costs, they are directly related to the number of photos
you take. Unless you have a digital camera, it will be necessary to buy film and to pay
for its development. It will cost you around $75 per 100 photographs.
